Ellesmere Island - Good Ice Gone Bad
Recently the news media and a few environmentalist went crazy over a piece of some old crunchy ice cubes the size of a 11,000 football fields that had managed to set itself free. I mean free babe and so with everybody pointing the finger why, why, why...I set off to understand why on Earth would good ice want to escape.
And so I did. Yup... and guess what I discovered if you were as old as this ice...and at an average of 50F in the summer nobody would want your sorry ass hanging around either. Consider it a form of rejection, good ice gone bad...Rotten ice to the core (so to speak)...hmmm and from what I hear it's probably on it's way right now to rob a bank in Baghdad. (go for it CNN)

A Place for Christmas
Micronesia -FSM
1st photo - Pingelap Atoll. The old airfield (upper right) is just shy of 2,000 ft perfect for light aircraft. Pop. 870. Would you live here if you had a chance?
Next photo is Omoka. Interesting contrast between ocean. And yes, from what I hear some pretty big sharks too.
3rd photo is Christmas Island.

4th photo - Morkil Atoll has a huge pop. of 300 and dry land equates to about 0.48 sq miles, depending on the tides.

Micronesia Marshall Islands
Island of Ujae (click to enlarge)
What a beautiful place to live... The air field on the island (runs East/ West) was probably built during WW 11. If you look just to the right of the marker you can see what remains of the runway that runs roughly North/ South. Looking to the left of the marker is a small circular clearing, my guess it's probably what remains of the control tower. What's great about this island, if your a pilot with an aircraft, Cessna, Piper, etc. what a fantastic place to live, huh.

East of Beirut
Found this large facilities east of Beirut. Doesn't look like your typical garden apartments. If you notice there is a lack of swiming pools and other amenties. (yes I know, but look around the city and you'll know what I mean) Take a close look at the roads in and around the facilities, you'll notice only a few entry points despite looking accessible. Notice the two large holes at the base of the hill. Doesn't look any typical mining site to me.

When doing some research work around the Arctic Circle recently I noticed something interesting a few miles to the north-west of the trench. If I am not mistaken there is an impact crater at 78º02’22.85” N 164º39’09.07” W measuring about 250 miles across.
I welcome any ideas or opinions as to the authenticity of this Google Earth image.
